The Association of Medical Illustrators Restricted Educational Fund (AMI Fund) was established in 2013 to support professional educational, research and scholarship activities of the AMI and its members.
The AMI’s primary mission is knowledge sharing to inspire a diverse community of innovators in biomedical visualization to apply their creativity, scientific expertise, and interdisciplinary skills to support discovery and innovation in life science, health, and medicine. Medical Illustrators are highly educated, multidisciplinary professionals who translate complex biomedical information into clear, accurate, and compelling visual narratives for a wide variety of audiences. Medical Illustration has applications in scientific discovery, education, patient care, public health, legal practice, or any environment that benefits from a clearer understanding of biomedical science.
The AMI Fund aligns with the mission and goal of providing a standard of excellence in professional education, benefiting the Association’s current professional, associate, student and potential members, as well as education about the profession to the public and professional stakeholders. Monies from the AMI Fund will support annual conference speakers, fund educational seminars and workshops at both the regional and national level, support release of national conference proceedings, and underwrite online continuing education programs to support the Board Certification of Medical Illustrators.
Donations made to the Vesalius Trust a 501(c)(3) non-nonprofit corporation are tax-deductible. Please make checks payable to the Vesalius Trust with the memo of “AMI Fund” and mail to:
